August Meeting Brief
Republicans gathered on Monday, August 5, 2024 and shared in open discussion starting with GPRC Treasurer, Dawn Horton. Dawn described her experience at the GOP convention. Key take-aways included the following:
- A convention emphases on bringing back common sense to the working class.
- Notable speakers included a Teamsters leader invited by Trump. Vivek spoke to attendees at a breakfast. Greg Abbott presented to attendees via Zoom.
- Toyota and Philips 66 were key sponsors.
Republicans who attend the GPRC meetings were invited to attend the Irving Republican Club meetings on Tuesdays.
Further discussions included election integrity led by Glynis McGinty, chief prosecutor of the Elections Integrity Unit for the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, emphasizing the importance of fair elections. Key concerns raised were voter harvesting, illegal voting activities, and the need for legislation to address these issues. The role of the Election Administration Office in monitoring voter eligibility, particularly concerning double voting and deceased individuals on voter rolls, was also discussed. The process for handling election-related complaints involves reporting to the Sheriff’s department, followed by an investigation and potential involvement of the DA’s office.
When you see something – say something. If you personally observe suspected election fraud, report it. Get names, take notes, and contact the Elections Administrative Office. For the DA to have evidence and resources to investigate, there need to be reports on file.
The process for complaints to be investigated:
- Call the sheriffs department
- Make complaint
- Investigate
- Sent to DA’s office.
The meeting concluded with a brief mention of issues concerning enrolled illegals voting to obtain food stamps.
Our next meetings for 2024 will be held on the first Mondays in October and December.
