The Grand Prairie Republican Club is excited to announce Glynis McGinty as our August speaker.
Glynis McGinty currently serves as the chief prosecutor of the Elections Integrity Unit for the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office. She was personally recruited by the elected district attorney, Judge Phil Sorrells, to head up this newly established unit.
Her legal career has spanned over 30 years in Tarrant County. Glynis graduated from high school at the age of 16 and immediately entered college at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she graduated in three years, all while working two jobs. She entered law school at the age of 19 and graduated soon after her 21st birthday. Glynis established her law firm, McGinty and Associates, in 1988 and enjoyed a successful practice until 2023. She has tried hundreds of criminal jury trials and believes wholeheartedly in the rule of law as it is written. She is licensed by the State Bar of Texas and all four federal districts in the United States. She has mentored many young attorneys over the years, who have gone on to have successful careers in various areas of law. As an adjunct professor at Tarrant County College, she taught police officers, sheriff’s deputies, and aspiring law school students courses in introduction to criminal law. Glynis also served for 23 years as an associate municipal court judge for the city of North Richland Hills and as the Senior Teen Court Judge for that city.
Glynis serves on many boards and is a sought-after speaker on subjects of criminal trial practices as well as election integrity. She is an active member of her church, Higher Praise Family Church, and serves in several ministries. She is also an extraordinary cook and caterer. She is a mother, a grandmother, and a staunch conservative.
